US History/Cultural History. The Department of History at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point seeks applications for a tenure track, assistant professorship in the field of US History with a specialization in US Cultural History. The ability to teach courses in one or more of the following Cultural History areas is highly desirable: American West, borderlands, military, intellectual. The successful candidate will be expect to teach a 4-4 load usually comprised of three sections of the US History survey and one upper level US or global/comparative course in the area of his or her expertise. The department values strong communication skills, a commitment to undergraduate education, and awareness of the importance of diversity in education. A completed Ph.D. in history is preferred for appointment, and required for retention and tenure. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
