Public History and Museum Director, Central Michigan University. Full-time tenure-track position, assistant or associate professor level, to begin Fall 2010. This position will be divided between faculty and Museum Director responsibilities. Appointment in the Department of History will involve half-time teaching in the field of Museum Studies and U.S., Canadian, or Native American History. Appointment as director of the university’s Museum of Cultural and Natural History includes an additional stipend provided for summer duties. The ability to acquire external funding for support of museum programs and collection is essential. Ph.D. in History, American Studies, or Canadian Studies required with demonstrated expertise in Public History. Send letter of application, c.v., copy of transcripts, three current letters of reference, evidence of successful teaching, relevant scholarship, and relevant experience in directing museum work to Chair, Search Committee, Department of History, Central Michigan University, Mt.
