The Department of Social Work, St. Thomas University, invites applications for two tenure-track positions. The positions begin July 1, 2010. The successful candidates will be expected to teach in several subject areas such as direct practice, social policy, community organization and social work with Aboriginal peoples. One position includes Field Education Coordinator responsibilities. Applicants with knowledge and experience with issues of diversity are encouraged to apply. The successful candidates will have knowledge of structural and feminist social work theory and its application to practice, and the ability to utilize a variety of teaching methods such as lectures, team teaching, and experiential learning. The successful candidates will have a PhD or will be registered in a PhD program. Eligibility for membership in the New Brunswick Association of Social Workers is a requirement. Each applicant is to submit an up-to-date curriculum vitae, samples of scholarly work, evidence of teaching effectiveness (teaching portfolio preferred), and arrange to have three letters of reference sent directly to Chair, Social Work Department, St. Thomas University, Fredericton NB E3B 5G3. Closing date: November 15th, 2009 or until positions are filled. Applicants are responsible for ensuring that their files, including letters of reference, are complete by this date.
