Assistant Professor (Tenure-track Position) The University of Northern British Columbia is ranked as one of Canada’s best small universities. The University of Northern British Columbia, in conjunction with the History Program, invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the history of Europe before 1600, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2010. Located in north-central British Columbia, Prince George is a city of 80,000 people with broad cultural, educational, and recreational amenities. The city is home to a symphony orchestra, professional theatre, a WHL hockey team, a community college, and the university. Prince George is a friendly community offering a wide range of new housing at very reasonable costs. Applicants should have a completed PhD, an established program of research, and a record of teaching excellence. The incumbent will be expected to teach lower-level European surveys, as well as senior courses in his/her area of expertise; candidates’ ability to contribute to the graduate program will also be considered as asset. Ability to complement and extend established strengths in the history program and the university will be considered as an asset.
