The History Department at Missouri State University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in Chinese history. Period and research area are open. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate surveys, as well as upper division undergraduate and graduate courses in East Asian history. Candidates should have a record of teaching effectiveness and demonstrate scholarly promise. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop the university’s Asian Studies Minor, as well as contribute to a number of academic programs and research partnerships at Missouri State’s branch campuses in China, and collaborate in the inter-college creation and development of Area Studies Programs. Applicants must have Ph.D. in hand by the beginning of August 2010. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications, experience, and rank. The Department of History has 19 full-time faculty members and over 300 undergraduate majors and over 70 graduate students.
