Expertise in South Asian History and Historiography. Successful candidate will teach general education, department core, and advanced level courses in field, with opportunity to define new advanced level courses. Ability to teach introductory course in Historical Research and Writing a plus. Successful candidate should also be able to work across disciplinary lines to develop articulations with other college- and university-wide programs. Involvement with off-campus institutions and organizations desirable. Excellent teaching skills and an active research agenda required, with evidence of grant seeking ability highly desirable. Earned Ph.D. required at the time of appointment. Excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels and an active research agenda required. Willingness to provide service to the department, the university and the profession expected. Review of applications will begin on November 6 and continue until position is filled. Salary dependent on qualifications. Starting Date: September 1, 2010. |
