The successful candidate will be a highly dedicated scholar-teacher committed to interdisciplinary scholarship and teaching, critical pedagogy, community-based learning and civic engagement, and/or the exploration of the Americas in transnational contexts. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in American Studies or a related field and a record of teaching and scholarship commensurate with appointment as an Associate or Full Professor with possibility of tenure on arrival. Administrative experience is preferred, and evidence of scholarly and teaching excellence is required. We are especially interested in candidates with expertise in one of the following areas: popular culture, visual culture, race/ethnicity, the Americas in transnational contexts, performance studies, or queer studies. The candidate will be expected to teach two courses per year. The appointee’s tenure home will reside in the department most closely related to her or his intellectual interests. Starting Date: July 1, 2010. This position is contingent upon budgetary allocation. |
