Migration Historian The Department of History at the University of Texas at Arlington invites applications for a position in the history of migration on the level of assistant professor. The successful candidate will become an active member of the department’s innovative and unique doctoral program in transatlantic history. Applicants will be expected to supervise doctoral work in the history of European migration to the Americas and focus on migration between the 1750s and the 1920s. Candidates will be expected to be fluent in at least one foreign language that corresponds with their research and teaching interests. Teaching responsibilities will include a doctoral colloquium on the history of migration and settlement, a research seminar in transatlantic history as well as various courses in social or cultural history of the Americas on the undergraduate level. Located in the center of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, UT Arlington is a Class I – Doctorate Granting Institution with a total enrollment of over 25,000. UT Arlington is close to numerous other universities, libraries, and museums in this diverse metropolitan region of more than 6 million people.
