The Department of Music at Stanford University seeks to make a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. We intend to appoint a scholar or scholar-practitioner focusing on repertoires including but not limited to Jazz, indigenous, and non-Western musics. Applicants will be expected to teach Music courses at both the graduate and undergraduate levels in popular, vernacular, and non-Western musical cultures and repertoires. Applicants should send curriculum vitae, a list of publications, a brief statement of research interest, and arrange for three letters of reference to be sent to the search chair. For full consideration, materials must be received by November 16, 2009. The term of appointment would begin in September 2010.
