INDIANA UNIVERSITY PURDUE UNIVERSITY FORT WAYNE Department of Communication Assistant Professor of Media and Communication The Department of Communication at Indiana University Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) seeks a tenure track Assistant Professor to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in media and communication beginning August 2010. The candidate should be able to teach undergraduate and graduate courses primarily in media law and policy with some combination of research methods, cultural studies, media analysis, media and society, as well as the candidate's area of expertise. We will consider all areas of research specialization, including but not limited to new and emerging media, Internet, digital and visual cultures, race/ethnicity, multimedia production and design. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to and expertise in teaching and research and will hold a doctorate in Communication by the start of employment. Professional experience is desirable. The Department and University are committed to providing inclusive educational experiences for our urban and regional constituents. The Department has thriving undergraduate and masters programs and a collegial and professionally active faculty. Current faculty members teach and do research in the following areas: interpersonal, organizational, intercultural, race and gender, communication education, cultural studies, rhetoric, media and legal communication.
