LATIN AMERICAN HISTORY POSITION: Western Illinois Universit's History Department (www.wiu.edu/history) invites applications for a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of Latin American History (broadly defined); additional field open. Ph.D. in History (preferred) or in related field required by time of appointment. Must have ability to teach upper-division and graduate courses in Latin American History and other area of specialization and selected survey courses. Prefer demonstrated excellence in teaching and strong record of scholarly activity. Continuing excellence in teaching and scholarly productivity are expected, plus participation in non-teaching service activities. Appointment begins 21 August 2010. APPLICATIONS: Screening of applications will begin 13 November 2009. Preliminary interviews will be conducted at the January 7-10, 2010 AHA annual meeting.
