World / South Asia History The History Department at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse invites applicants for a tenure-track assistant professorship, with a teaching/research specialty in World History and South Asian history. The department encourages applications from candidates with additional teaching competencies that fill a need within the department. Our department seeks foremost an engaging teacher and scholar who can inspire students in the History major, minor, teacher education, and the University’s General Education program. UW-La Crosse is an ideal location for faculty who seek to integrate their teaching, research, and service activities. Teaching responsibilities include three courses per semester, including a General Education World History course and upper level courses in specialty areas. Ph. D. with a specialty in South Asian history is required by time of appointment. Please list major and minor fields of specialization on C. V. and submit a letter of application, C.V., graduate transcripts, and 3 letters of recommendation by November 9, 2009. The Department of History provides students with a solid foundation in a world history curriculum, with specialties in selected time periods, themes, and subjects. Faculty are leaders in disciplinary specialties and history education. The department partners in interdisciplinary programs, including Latin American Studies, Women’s Gender and Sexuality Studies, German Studies, Russian Studies, Environmental Studies and Public History.
