Japanese History The Department of History at the University of Florida, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, in conjunction with the Asian Studies Program, seeks applications for a one-year visiting assistant professor position in Japanese History to begin mid-August, 2009. We seek scholars with expertise in modern or premodern Japanese history who creatively engage issues in feminist, legal, environmental, or social history. An ability to connect issues in Japanese History with a broader East Asian or Pacific Rim perspective is a plus. Teaching load is 3-3, salary and benefits competitive, and support provided for conference travel. Minimum requirement is a Ph.D. or ABD status in East Asian history.
