The Department of HIstory/Political Science at Christian Brothers University, a Catholic university in the Lasallian tradition, in Memphis, Tennessee, is seeking to fill an opening in recent U.S. History for academic year, 2009-2010. The Department is interested in someone who can teach the U.S. History survey courses and upper division history courses in U.S. History (since Reconstruction), and in another field, preferably Latin America, Women's History, or Ancient/Medieval History. This is a full-time, one-year appointment, renewable for up to three years with the possibility of becoming a tenure-track position. The salary will be in the upper-$30K range. The successful applicant should have a Ph.D. in hand and some teaching experience. The course load is 12 hours per semester, with some scholarly activity and service also expected.
