The LEWIS & CLARK COLLEGE department of history invites applications for a one semester leave replacement beginning for spring semester 2010 for a Latin Americanist. Minimum ABD in history with demonstrated potential for excellent teaching at an undergraduate institution required. Course load will consist of the Modern Latin American history survey, and potentially another class on Race and Nation in Latin America. Review of applications will begin on July 1 and continue until the position is filled. A complete application must include (1) a curriculum vita; (2) a letter of application, which includes a statement of educational philosophy, teaching experience and, research interests; (3) evidence of teaching effectiveness; (4) three letters of recommendation sent under separate cover and (5) graduate transcripts.
