Assistant Professor, Political Science Mercer University Macon, GA The department of Political Science at Mercer University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in American Politics. Responsibilities will include teaching seven undergraduate courses per academic year in introductory American government, upper division specialty courses in American politics, and extra-departmental general education courses. Candidates must be able to teach courses on US institutions, public policy, research methodology and/or national security. Customary expectations for advising, departmental and university service, and scholarly activity. Earned doctorate in Political Science with emphasis in American government, public policy (foreign, environmental, health and/or economic policy) and/or ethnic and religious studies from an accredited university/college is required. Promise of excellence in teaching and scholarly activity in the context of a liberal arts college is essential. Must have interest in research involving undergraduate students and interdisciplinary teaching. Preference is given to candidates with the background to develop area study courses in Asia or Latin America.
