The Department of History at the University of California, Riverside, will have various temporary, part-time openings for Lecturers for the 2009-2010 academic year pending final budgetary approval. The salary for each course will be approximately $4,628. M.A. (minimum) and evidence of outstanding teaching qualities required. The department will create a pool of candidates and will make the selections when the budget is finalized. The areas and courses we hope to offer are as follows: American History One upper-division course on The Supreme Court & the Constitution (Hisa 120A) Fall Quarter 2009 One upper-division course on The Supreme Court & the Constitution (Hisa 120B) Spring Quarter 2010 One upper-division course on Early U.S. 1789-1848 (Hisa 110C) Spring Quarter 2010 European History One lower-division European history survey course, 1400-1750 (Hist 51) Fall Quarter 2009 scheduled for MWF 2-3 pm. One upper-division course on Europe Since 1945 (Hise 142) Fall Quarter 2010 scheduled for MWF 12-1 pm One upper-division course on England, 1485-1760 (Hise 151) Winter Quarter 2010 One upper-division course on The Reformation (Hise 132) Spring Quarter 20109 One upper-division course on World War I (Hise 145) Spring Quarter 2010 World History One lower-division World History course from 1500-1900 (Hist 15) Fall Quarter 2009 scheduled for Tues/Thurs 10:40-12 pm. One lower-division World History course from 1500-1900 (Hist 15) Spring Quarter 2010 One lower-division 20th C.
