Kenyon College Center for the Study of American Democracy Post-Doctoral Fellow Kenyon College is seeking applications for the Center for the Study of American Democracy Post-doctoral Fellowship. This new post-doctoral program creates a one-year teaching fellowship in the Department of Political Science that would be renewable for a second year (2009-2010 with potential to renew for 2010-2011). Candidates should possess a PhD in Political Science, History, Sociology, American Studies or a related field from an accredited university prior to the commencement of the fellowship. Responsibilities include teaching one (1) course each semester and some program administration duties. The course to be taught is the introductory political science class Quest for Justice, which introduces students to politics by reading primary works drawn from multiple disciplines and raising fundamental political questions. The fellow will be associated with the new Center for the Study of American Democracy. Every other spring, the Center will host a major conference on a fundamental topic of American Democracy, and the fellow will be involved in the planning of the conference and will work with the director editing a volume of papers coming out of the conference.
