Applications are invited for a one year Contractually Limited Term Appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in Philosophy, beginning July 1, 2009 and ending June 30, 2010. Area of Specialization: Analytic philosophy. The department has undergraduate teaching needs in Introduction to Philosophy, Philosophy of Mind, Aesthetics, Philosophy of Science, History of Philosophy (empiricism). Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Philosophy completed or near completion. Experience teaching large enrollment classes an asset. Candidates with a record of excellence in both research and teaching will be given preference. The successful candidate will teach five term-length undergraduate courses per year in the Department of Humanities, UTSC, and will have the opportunity to participate in our tricampus graduate department. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
