The Jewish Studies Program in the College of Arts and Sciences at American University invites applications for a one-year postdoctoral Schusterman Teaching Fellowship, beginning Fall 2009. Applicants should hold a Ph.D. or have completed their doctorate by August 2009; be prepared to teach, advise, and mentor undergraduate students in Jewish Studies; and have demonstrated excellence in scholarship and teaching in any area of Jewish Studies which complements the strengths of the existing program. Pending approval, during AY 2010-11, the successful applicant would be appointed Visiting Assistant Professor in Jewish Studies. Send a letter of application addressing teaching and research interests and experience, curriculum vitae, and three letters of recommendation to the Search Committee, Jewish Studies Program, American University, Washington, DC 20016-8042.
